We are thrilled to share some wonderful news with our community — our school has officially been registered as a Kindergarten to Year 12 (K–12) provider with the New South Wales Education Standards Authority (NESA). We have received our Certificate of Initial Registration for Years 11 and 12, marking a transformative moment in our school’s journey. This milestone represents years of thoughtful planning, deep commitment, and hard work. It affirms the belief that a Montessori education can foster students through their full schooling experience, from their earliest years through to the completion of secondary school. This vision, long held by many within our community, has now become a reality. At the heart of this achievement is the outstanding leadership of Adam Scotney and the guidance, knowledge and persistence of Margaret Kroger, whose dream it has been to see this goal come to fruition. Supported by a capable and passionate leadership and education team, who have consistently championed the expansion of the school’s offerings to ensure continuity of education for our students and families. Their efforts have laid a strong foundation for senior secondary education that is aligned with both Montessori philosophy and the academic expectations of NESA. In addition, Northside Montessori High School is thrilled to now be an authorised International Baccalaureate (IB) World School for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). The School Board has been proud to work with Adam and the team throughout this journey. We have been inspired by their persistence, vision, and unwavering belief in what this school can offer young people — not just in the early years, but right through to graduation. Their work ensures that our students can grow in a consistent, values-aligned environment, developing not only academic skills but also independence, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning. For families, this achievement brings certainty and opportunity. Students can now remain in the environment they know and love, continuing to be supported by teachers who understand and honour the Montessori approach. For staff, it offers new avenues for professional growth and educational leadership. And for the broader community, it positions our school as a comprehensive educational institution — one that blends a rich history of Montessori excellence with a forward-looking commitment to academic rigour and whole-child development. We want to extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who played a role in this process — from administrators and educators to parents and supporters. This is a shared success, and a proud moment added to the 47 years of rich Montessori history since the school was founded in 1978. Ian Carlson Board Secretary |
