Enrolment Process

Step 1: Enquiry

Families enquire to the school. Contact can be made via our webpage, by emailing our Registrar on enrol@northsidemontessori.nsw.edu.au or by calling (02) 9144 2835. Families are provided with information on upcoming tours.

Step 2: Tour

Families attend a tour (either an Open morning or personal tour) and receive an enrolment pack once families have had an opportunity to have a look at the school and meet key staff.

Step 3 : Application

Families submit an application form.
Enrolment applications are placed on the Waitlist in accordance with our Enrolment Policy. We give preference to siblings of children enrolled at the School, children transferring from Stepping Stones Long Day care and other Montessori schools, and to children currently enrolled in our Montessori Toddler program. Please note that when assessing applications, we will give consideration to order of receipt of application and to maintaining a balance of ages and genders in our multi-age classes.

Step 4: Interview

The School may write to you to invite you to meet with the Principal and you and your child are required to attend. This is an opportunity for you to ask questions about the School. The School will take this opportunity to understand your expectations for your child’s Montessori education. We will also discuss your understanding of the Montessori approach and other expectations of families joining the School such as volunteering, working bees, etc.

Step 5: Offer Of Place

The School will assess all applicants. If we have a place for your child, Families are sent a ‘letter of offer’ package, which includes information on how to pay the placement fee as well as the Parent Agreement contract.

We will write to you if your application is not successful.

You will have 2 weeks to accept the Offer and return the signed Letter of Offer and the Enrolment Contract along with payment of the Enrolment Placement Fee to secure your place. We will acknowledge receipt of the Letter of Offer, Enrolment Placement Fee and signed Enrolment Contract in writing.

In this letter, it is indicated when a child will start.

Step 6: Offer Of Placement

Prior to the projected start date, families are sent a letter of placement which informs them of an actual start date, orientation information and a proposed observation date in their child’s classroom.

This includes membership payment details, medical documents, consent forms and any other forms needed to complete the enrolment process.

Class allocation, after consultation with the classroom teacher, is at the sole discretion of the Principal.

Step 7: Commencement

Families attend an orientation. Child commences shortly after.

If required, parents will have an additional interview with the Principal.

Parents are asked to keep their address and contact details current with the school. If the school attempts to contact you and there is no response, your child’s application will be cancelled.
